Here are 10 things in the field of UX I recently found interesting:
“But beyond compliance and business incentives, designing for privacy is simply the right thing to do.” Use the 8 principles of privacy-first design from Matthew Stephens. Think through where privacy could fit in the 20 levers framework.
Based on their team’s experience building products such as marketing chat, model repo, playground, and more at Modular AI, Eve Weinberg shared resources and lessons learned to help designers craft meaningful UI patterns.
More effective planning can drive greater UX success, so try these: 1) UX capacity planning framework by Jeremy Bird, and 2) user research prioritization framework from Jeanette Fuccella. "You’ll likely determine what works best for your team through trial and error.”
A few very practical tools for designers that I recently came across: 1) Get actionable, real-time, usability insightsfrom an AI-powered Figma plugin called Usably by Hazal Ozturk, 2) create custom color scales with Tailwind CSS Color Generator, and 3) pixelate user faces with Pixelated Censor by Saranomy.
AI can make things more familiar, but can limit discovery. Michael Buckley examines this paradox of UX personalization. “This could mean offering an ‘Exploration Mode’, where users can temporarily suspend hyper-personalization and engage with a broader range of content.” I also recommend reading Service Design for AI by Ron Bronson and IDEO’s case against AI-generated users.

Balancing exploratory and testing research based on business need and timing is tricky.
