Newer UXers and those trying to break into the field have an uphill battle. Kathryn Brookshier shared data showing that UX job listings are decreasing. Meghan Wenzel shared a few reasons why it's hard to break into UX (includingrole and field complexity). Briana Bui shared 6 challenges junior folks will struggle with. IDF estimated 13% increase from 2010 to 2020 which would mean 120,000 UX professionals will be added to the US workforce by 2030.
Seasoned UXers have affordances and should help. Jakob Nielsen shared that (A) higher-level UX salaries have held steady for 25 years and (B) generative AI enhances old users’ intellectual performance through wise winnowing.
